Things to Consider When Choosing A Space

Size Does Matter: Get a ballpark idea of who's invited and round out that number to help target your search for the perfect space. Remember, the space may look roomy now but it will fill up fast with a band setup, buffet, tables, chairs, and decorations.

Hell Is Other People: If you want something intimate, don't hold your event in a public spot like a park or garden unless you rent it. Strangers may walk by, look, or even make comments.

If These Walls Could Talk: Big venues often hold more than one event at a time, so find out what's happening on your target date, and where. You don't want to be shouting your vows over the sounds of karaoke or a self-help seminar next door.

Room with a View: Give your guests a little feast for their eyes. Pick a location that offers something visual - a city skyline or a sunset overlooking the ocean. If you choose a historic building, or museum, look at the architectural details, wall hangings, and floor coverings.

Praying to the Parking Gods: If you are having a city wedding, look for a lot nearby and negotiate a flat rate to validate your guest's passes. Opting for a bus or trolley may be a solution for inadequate parking facilities.

Pickle Eating and Running

Pickle is really starting to warm up to us. His first day here he was tired and pretty shy. He really didn't eat or drink much either. Today though he really started warming up to us. He's also eating much better and drinking plenty of water. We also got him some cool toys to play with and chew on. He'll be getting a dust bath tomorrow which will make a cool little video.

We Got a Pickle

Well, yesterday we picked up Pickle, our chinchilla. He's super cute and about the size of a large squirrel. He looks like one too. He should grow to double in size and can live 15-20 years! He sleeps quite a bit during the day and is most active at night: fits well with my schedule. :) He seems very intelligent and and takes dust baths, which is really cool to watch. I'm sure I'll be posting more pictures and videos in the future.

Snowboarding at Lutsen

We had a great time snowboarding at Lutsen. It's on Lake Superior's North Shore and you can see the lake when your on top of the mountains. The weather was great but a little foggy at times. Check out the view from our resort and the video of the gondola ride from one of the mountains to another.

I Love Winnipeg!

It's a little late but, Happy New Year! We had an awesome time as usual in Winnipeg this year. We stayed at the Holiday Inn, ate at Confusion Corner Bar & Grill (sweet restaurant), and partied at Tijuana Yacht Club (Winnipeg's largest club). Winnipeg is such an amazing city. They have tons of culture, art, and things to do. Plus, its only two hours from us.

Christmas Gifts!

Hopefully everyone had a great Christmas and New Year's celebration. I got some sweet gifts to play with and we had lots of fun and did quite a bit of traveling. We even got some snowboarding in too. I'll post some photos of our adventures later on.
